Small Victories
I am not an optimistic person by nature, so as I’ve continued along my path to a healthy weight I’ve noticed that I very frequently forget how far I have come. I remember the times I have felt like I couldn’t full participate in my life because I was trying to diet, I remember skipping happy hours and missing social occasions because I had to go to the gym, yet I quickly forget how good it feels to put on a smaller size for the first time. So, this page is my attempt to remember what I’ve accomplished and how I’ve felt during the good times. Maybe this will help, maybe not, but I’ve got nothing to lose by trying!’
January 28, 2009 – Today I’m wearing a jacket that I purchased 2 1/2 years ago and it’s loose. It was tight when I bought it and was way too small for a long time.
January 21, 2009 – I purchased bras in a new size, 34D, for the first time and they actually fit comfortably! I love that now the band isn’t always slipping down because it’s too loose.
February 14, 2009 – Purchased new clothes today from New York & Company. The pants are size 10, 2 shirts that are mediums and a cardigan in a small!
February 26, 2009 – I just did 30 minutes of interval training on the treadmill; I was jogging at 5.0 mph for 2 minutes and running at 6.0 mph for 1. I tried interval training like this last week but I could only handle 20 minutes before I just had to stop.
Look for more victories to be added as they happen!
